Minute Man Race
The Women’s League of Westport hosts the 48th annual Minute Man Race on April 25, 2027 at Compo Beach in Westport, CT. The event includes adult race options and a sequence of Kids Fun Runs with a dedicated Kids Zone available during and after the children’s races. Net proceeds support the league’s Grants Program, which benefits charities throughout Fairfield County and has distributed over $4.3 million since 1956.
Race distances:
- 10K Run (6.2 miles)
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- 50 yard dash for ages 3 to 5
- 100 yard dash for ages 6 to 7
- 1/2 km for ages 8 to 9
- 1 km for ages 10 to 12
Awards are given for first through third place male and female finishers in the 10K and 5K. Kids Fun Run participants receive medals or ribbons.
Participant amenities include a Runner’s Services station before and after the race offering water, fruit, and crackers, plus a separate food station for the Kids Fun Run. Bathroom facilities are available near the main pavilion, marina, and skate park. Water stations are provided at intervals along the course.
Parking is available inside the Compo Beach gates and in the adjacent Soundview dirt lot without a beach sticker. Entry fees are non refundable as this is a charity event. Registration pickup occurs at a local sponsor location on pre race dates. Strollers must line up at the back of the pack for safety.
