About the race
The Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot is an annual community 5K held in Paul, Idaho; the 21st edition takes place on Thursday, Nov 26, 2026. The event is staged at West Minico Middle School, with the start and finish on the school track and a 5K route that loops through nearby quiet neighborhoods. The course is described as flat and fast, with mile markers, a water station near mile 1.6, restrooms inside the school and at the track, and first aid provided by the West End Fire Protection District. Registration was offered in multiple tiers with included items such as a commemorative t-shirt (while supplies last), race timing, and finish line treats.
Shirts and timing chips are distributed first come, first serve. Three registration methods were listed: online, paper drop-off at Hurst Chiropractic in Burley, and mailed forms to a Paul address. Mailed forms must arrive before the race date. Parking is available in the West Minico lots via the main entrance off 600 W, with accessible parking reserved directly south of the gym and a designated north entrance for drop-off.
Volunteers are used for registration, course marshaling, water stations, photography, and post-race activities. Official results and past data are posted through the event timing partner; the most recent year reported 1,272 participants and the event records 21 years of history.
