Mingus Madness 50k : Prescott Valley, AZ : November 7, 2026
Mingus Madness 50k is an unofficial, minimally supported trail race near Prescott Valley, Arizona. The course runs atop and around the Woodchute side of Mingus Mountain and follows rugged, remote trails. The route covers about 33 miles (roughly 50K) with approximately 6,000 feet of climb, and participants should expect substantial hiking in addition to running.
The course will be the same as previous years. Organizers plan three aid stations and some post-race food; participants should bring their own chairs or blankets since conditions can be chilly. A GPX file is required for race day.
There is a strict intermediate cutoff before the descent down the 102 into the second aid station, at roughly mile 14. Runners who are not starting that descent by 12:30 (about 5.5 hours after the start) will be directed to take the 102 trail back to the start/finish for an 18 mile alternative. There is no overall race cutoff, but the descent deadline is enforced.
