MindOverMoors - Esk Valley Way Ultra is a point-to-point ultra running event on Saturday 1 August 2026. The route follows the official Esk Valley Way from Castleton to Whitby Harbour beneath the Abbey ruins. The advertised distance is 36 miles with total ascent listed as 4,054. Route, safety and facilities
The course is fully way marked and supplied with GPX and Strava routes. Premium OpenTracking GPS tracking will be used with live timing and splits. There are five checkpoints, each with either on-site toilet facilities or toilets in the village, and checkpoints are stocked with basic food and drinks. A mid- way non-returnable food drop bag option is available. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat and gloves, capacity to carry 500 ml fluid, a fully charged phone, a survival bag, and a whistle. Free parking, toilet facilities at start and finish, race photography, finishers medals, male and female podium trophies, and first aid medical support are listed.
