Mind Over Miles 5K takes place on October 4, 2026, at Ada Hayden Heritage Park Lake in Ames, Iowa. The event includes a main 5K and a separate kids run for children 12 years and under.

Registration details are provided for each event. The 5K registration fee is $40.00 and the kids run fee is $10.00. Registration opens June 25, 2026 and closes on October 4, 2026. Race registration includes a race T-shirt; sizes are guaranteed for 5K entries received by September 13, 2026 and are limited after that date.
Early packet pick up and T-shirt pickup are available the Friday before the event at 605 East Lincoln Way STE 4, Ames, IA 50014 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and on the morning of the event at the shelter house at Ada Hayden Park.
Age groups for awards or classification are 9 and under; 10-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and over.
Proceeds from the event support no cost mental health services for underinsured or uninsured individuals in Story County. The program Gap to Growth also provides internship experience for masters level counseling students. Creative Counseling Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on counseling and mental wellness.
