Millinocket Marathon & Half
The Millinocket Marathon & Half is scheduled for December 5, 2026, in Millinocket, Maine. The event is organized by volunteers and operates with no formal entry fee; participants are strongly encouraged to make a donation to cover essential race expenses and community support. When donations collected in advance are insufficient, a mandatory donation for late entries may be required.
The course is a USATF certified 13.1 mile loop (Marathon ME16007JK, Half ME16008JK). The half marathon follows one loop; the marathon follows the same loop twice. Course surfaces include a paved climb leaving town, about six miles on the Golden Road, which is a gravel, privately owned logging road used under permit, and roughly six miles of pavement returning into town. Runners are required to keep to the left side of the road, facing oncoming traffic.
The event is chip-timed and timing chips are attached to the back of bib numbers; bibs must be worn on the front. Water stops are not guaranteed; in past years runners have sometimes provided informal, pop-up support. There is no official sag wagon. Race day parking is limited near the start and finish and free bus transportation is provided for participants.
The race acknowledges that it runs on unceded territory of the Wabanaki Confederacy and honors the Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Maliseet, and Micmac peoples. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
