Event Overview
The 40th Annual Milkman Triathlon is a sprint-distance triathlon held in Dexter, New Mexico. The race starts with a 500-meter swim in Lake Van, continues with a 20-kilometer bike ride toward Bottomless Lakes State Park, and finishes with a 5-kilometer run through the Southwestern Native Aquatic Resources & Recovery Center.
Event Format
Participants can choose from three registration categories:
- SOLOIST ($55)
- Mixed RELAY ($20)
- CHS ($20)
Relay teams must be mixed gender to qualify for awards. Participants are reminded to bring their ID and USAT card.
Post-Race & Logistics
Chocolate milk and ice cream are provided at the finish line. Packet pickup is scheduled for the day before the race at the lake office, and resumes on race morning.
The event is sanctioned under USA Triathlon (USAT) rules. Key regulations include mandatory helmet use while in possession of a bike, prohibitions on drafting and unauthorized assistance, and restrictions on the use of communication devices during competition.
