Miles Per Hour Run
The Miles Per Hour Run is an indoor one hour run held at McCormick Place through the Chicago Auto Show floor. Participants run loops through the exhibit halls on a course described as 2.4 miles, covering as much distance as they can within 60 minutes. The course passes auto displays and crosses the Grand Concourse bridge with views of the Chicago skyline and Lake Michigan through the Lakeside Center windows.
The loop features long straightaways, zig zags, and an incline on the indoor bridge over Lake Shore Drive. Mile markers are posted each mile and timing mats are placed at multiple locations to record finish results. Aid stations with water and Gatorade Endurance are available at multiple points on course.
Finishers receive a medal and a t shirt. Awards include the MPH Cup for top male and top female and recognition in multiple age groups, with age group awards shipped after the event. The event is capped at 800 participants. Gear check is available on site. Preliminary results are available on site, with live posting for mobile lookup and kiosks at the results table.
Packet pick up is offered at Fleet Feet locations and on site; packet mailing has an ordering deadline. The event provides access to the Chicago Auto Show as part of the experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
