Miles for Mik 5K at Shakopee High School
Miles for Mik 5K is an annual community run, walk, and bike event held to honor a young local community member who was active in hockey, soccer, 4H, band, and running. The event is family friendly and aims to build community while supporting opportunities for youth.
This is the third annual edition, scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026 at Shakopee High School. The main distance is 5K and the event accepts runners, walkers, and cyclists.
All proceeds support a foundation that helps bridge financial gaps so youth can participate in sports, fine arts, or outdoor programs. A portion of the proceeds will be dedicated to the Big Wild summer program hosted by the Minnesota Wild, which introduces hockey to children ages 9 to 13 who may have missed earlier opportunities to try the sport.
The honoree completed long-distance events and participated in a range of activities, and the event reflects an interest in encouraging new experiences for young people. Registration will open soon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
