Miles for Merrick
Miles for Merrick is an inaugural community running and walking event held on September 19, 2026 in Amarillo, Texas at 7700 Hillside Rd, 79119. The program includes a community 5K run and a 1 mile walk or run.
The event was created to raise awareness for lissencephaly pachygyria, a rare neurological and genetic disorder that affects brain development. A portion of event proceeds will be donated to the Turn Center in Amarillo, a nonprofit organization that provides therapy services and support to children with developmental challenges. Race timing will be provided by the Amarillo Lone Star Runners Club.
