Miles for Mary Run/Walk
The Miles for Mary Run/Walk is an annual event held in Westfield, Massachusetts. This third edition of the gathering takes place at Stanley Park, specifically utilizing the Westfield Bank Pavilion area near the children's playscape. The event provides an opportunity for community members to participate in physical activity while supporting a charitable cause.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5k) running race
- 1 Mile walk
The event serves as a fundraiser for the Mary Malone Regan Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship benefits parents enrolled in the STCC Nursing Program, the same program from which the event's namesake graduated with honors in 2021. The initiative was established by family and friends to create a lasting legacy following her passing in late 2022. The funds collected assist parents who are pursuing a nursing education to improve life for their children.
Registration for participants is open in the months leading up to the event, with an entry fee that increases shortly before the race day. Children age 12 and under may participate for free when they are accompanied by an adult. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
