Miles For Margaritas
Miles For Margaritas is a community running and walking event held in the Lordship seaside neighborhood of Stratford, Connecticut, at 10 Washington Parkway. The event program includes three options:
- 3.11 mile chip timed measured 5k
- 1 mile untimed walk only for walkers
- approximately 200 yards kids fun run for ages 9 and under
The 5k course is measured and net times are posted online. The one mile option is untimed and intended for walkers; participants are asked to make room for runners and to keep to the left side of the road when practical. The kids run is free and adults may accompany a child.
Registration was limited to 300 total participants and the event was sold out. A T shirt size was guaranteed for entrants registered by April 19; after that shirts were provided as available. Awards for the 5k include gift cards for overall winners and age group prizes and medals; the untimed walk does not include awards.
Course notes: the route is mostly flat with water views and uses open roads, so participants are asked to face traffic and stay aware. There may not be a water station on course; post event snacks, bottled water, and age restricted margaritas were provided, with nonalcoholic options available. Proceeds benefit the Stratford YMCA.
