Miles for Manufacturing 5K and 1 Mile Walk
The Miles for Manufacturing event takes place at DuSable Harbor in Chicago on September 16, 2026, as part of IMTS. It combines a timed 5K run and a 1-mile walk to raise funds for STEM education programs around the country.
Distances offered:
- 5K - entry fee $40
- 1 Mile - entry fee $30
The event began at IMTS in 2014 and has raised more than $250,000 to date. All funds raised go directly to STEM programs that prepare future makers, innovators and problem solvers. IMTS covers production expenses such as shirts, timing gear, permits and signage, so sponsorship dollars and registration fees are invested in manufacturing education.
