Miles for Manufacturing 5k and 1 Mile Walk
The Miles for Manufacturing (M4M) event is a running and walking competition held in Chicago along the Lakefront Trail. This event serves the manufacturing community and focuses on supporting education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Since its inception in 2014, the event has raised more than $250,000 for STEM programs across the United States.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- IMTS 5K
- IMTS 1-Mile
The event is organized such that 100% of registration fees and sponsorship funds are directed toward manufacturing education. This is possible because IMTS covers all production costs, including timing equipment, permits, signage, and participant shirts. The course is located near DuSable Harbor, and the event provides opportunities for individual participation as well as corporate teams.
Corporate teams allow organizations to sponsor registration fees for their members, with a final payment deadline set for early September. Dedicated packet pickup sessions are available in the days leading up to the race at McCormick Place, as well as on the morning of the event at DuSable Harbor.
