Miles for Mammos 5K Run/Walk
Miles for Mammos is a community benefit run and walk held in Southport, North Carolina, with proceeds supporting Dosher Memorial Hospital and local breast health services. The event offers both an in-person and a virtual option.
Distances
- 5K (3.1 miles) timed race
- 1 Mile family walk/fun run, not timed
- Virtual option: choose 1 or 3.1 miles
Registration opens June 24, 2026. In-person registration guarantees a race shirt if completed by September 17, 2026. Fee structure for the 5K changes by date: $40 by September 17, $45 starting September 18, and $50 starting October 1. The 1 Mile registration fee is listed as $35. Virtual registration and fee apply separately; virtual entry includes shipping for race swag and swag is mailed within two weeks after the event.
Event amenities include participant shirts (while supplies last, sizes XS–2XL), race bibs, participant medals, two water stations, and portable toilets near the start area. The course provides a turnaround for the 1 Mile and a second water station at the corner of St George and Lord S. Awards are given for overall male and female winners and for age group winners across standard age brackets.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Live Oak Med Spa and the morning of the event at the registration area behind Dosher Memorial Hospital, 924 N Howe St., Southport, NC 28461. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
