Miles for Mammos 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
Miles for Mammos is a community running and walking event held at the BSA Harrington Breast Center, 1310 Wallace Blvd, Amarillo, TX. The event benefits the Harrington Breast Center and advances breast cancer awareness, education, and support services across the Texas Panhandle. Proceeds benefit the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation.
The event includes multiple distances:
- 5K Competitive
- 5K Non-Competitive
- 1‑Mile Fun Run/Walk
Organizers encourage participants and community members to wear pink to recognize breast cancer awareness. The race course includes placed "In Honor Of" ribbons; signs placed along the course should be taken by the purchaser after the event, otherwise they will be held at the Harrington Breast Center for later pickup. A designated Survivor Area is provided to acknowledge breast cancer survivors.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at the Harrington Breast Center and includes race shirts, competitive race bibs, survivor information, and additional race materials; shirt, bib, and race information are also available at onsite check-in on race day. Race-day activities include music, vendors, educational information, pre-race warm-ups, and snacks. Available parking is noted at the Turn Center parking lot and the Laura Bush parking lot.
