Mike Hess Brewing Fun Run
The Mike Hess Brewing Fun Run is a 5k-ish event taking place in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. Organized by the California Brewery Running Series, this event features a course that starts and ends at the Mike Hess Brewing taproom. Participants can choose to run, walk, or jog the distance.
The course is "open," meaning that roads are not closed to traffic and participants must follow all traffic laws. The route is clearly marked for all participants. As an untimed event, there is no pressure regarding finishing speed.
Participants receive several items with their registration:
- 5 km (approximate distance)
- One craft beer from Mike Hess Brewing (or a non-alcoholic beverage for those under 21)
- A choice of Brewery Running Series swag, such as a collector’s pint glass or a seasonal item
- Access to post-run activities including music, games, and prizes
The event operates on a rain or shine basis. There is no bag check available on-site, and participants are required to bring a valid ID. Dogs and strollers are permitted on the course, provided they follow the specific policies set by the brewery. A portion of the proceeds from the event is donated to local nonprofit organizations, including East LA Rising, Radiate Motivate, and Alma Family Services.
