About the race
Midwest States 100 is a multi-distance trail event held in Westboro, WI, in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The course uses a large portion of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and returns to the start/finish at W7969 Park Rd, Westboro, WI 54490.

The trail runs through lakes, thick forest, rocky terrain, and open prairie sections carved by ancient glaciers. The Ice Age Trail is one of the National Scenic Trails and is supported by the Ice Age Trail Alliance and volunteers.
The event is presented with a small field and a grassroots feel. Runners reach the start/finish at the 100K point and may finish there as official 100K finishers or continue on for the 100 mile distance. Organizers describe the event as a wilderness adventure.
Logistics and policies listed by the organizers include camping add-on for $35 with limits (one two-person tent and one car or one small camper van per campsite), no camping at the start/finish, early bird pricing until January 15, registration opening on December 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM CT, rollover options with varying credit rules, bib transfer available through August 1, and no refunds.
