37th Annual Midnight Madness Run
The Midnight Madness Run is a long-standing tradition held at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Arizona. Taking place on the Kiwanis Park Soccer Field Cross Country Course, the event offers a unique schedule that spans the transition from the old year into the new one. Participants have the option to compete in a final race on December 31 or a first race on January 1.
The event features several participation options:
- Final 5K of 2026: A cross-country run held late on New Year's Eve.
- First 5K of 2027: A race held shortly after midnight on New Year's Day.
- Double Down: An option to participate in both the final and first 5K races.
- Virtual Run: For those unable to attend in person, with items shipped after the event concludes.
The races are chip-timed with real-time results available. All in-person participants receive a custom long-sleeve hooded tech shirt and a finisher's medal. Those who complete the Double Down receive two separate medals designed to connect into one larger piece. Between the two races, a celebration takes place featuring a sparkling cider toast.
Amenities include pre- and post-race snacks such as granola bars, fruit, and cookies. The event is pet-friendly for animals on leashes.
