About the race
The 37th Annual Midnight Madness Run is a two-part event at Kiwanis Park Soccer Field Cross Country Course in Tempe, AZ, organized by StartLine Racing. The event features the final 5K of 2026 and the first 5K of 2027, with a New Year celebration and a sparkling cider toast between the two races.
Registration options include single-race entries, a Double Down option that includes both in-person races, and a Virtual Run that provides both medals and a hooded technical shirt to participants in the United States. Virtual items and apparel are shipped after the event. Mail-in registration is available using the organizer’s form and allows payment by check.
Runners receive a custom finisher medal; those who run both events receive two medals that connect to form one larger medal. A custom dri-fit long sleeve hooded shirt is offered with an option to decline the shirt for a small registration reduction. Male and female age group awards are given to the top three in standard age categories from 8 and under through 80 and over. The event provides pre- and post-race snacks, a sparkling cider toast at midnight, and chip timing with real time results and photos. Packet pick-up is available the day before at Road Runner Sports in Tempe and at the event site. The event is pet friendly for leashed animals, accepts on-site payment methods, and has no refunds for inclement weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
