Cocking Trail Races
The event is a series of trail races through the South Downs National Park, based at the Cadence Cycle Club Café at Cocking Hilltop near Midhurst (GU29 0HT) on Sunday 10 May 2026. The senior routes run across the Cowdray Estate, onto the South Downs and the West Dean Estate, using footpaths and bridleways with a few short sections on quiet country lanes. Runners can expect sustained climbs, open ridge running and a fast downhill section to the finish, with wide views that can include the South Coast and the Isle of Wight.
Key route features include the derelict site of West Monkton on the route and the Devil's Jumps Bronze Age site on the 20 km course. Water stations are provided at about 4 km for the 10 km and an additional station at about 12 km for the 20 km. The course will be signposted and marshalled. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules.
Facilities and services include chip timing, finisher medals, podium and age category prizes, spot prizes, toilets, on site parking, bike parking and race village refreshments. Entries are limited to 350 and must be made online. Adult runners must be at least 16 years old and dogs are not permitted on the course.
