Annual MI Hot Dog Mile
The MI Hot Dog Mile is an annual event held at Eastern Market in Detroit, located at 2515 Riopelle St. The event was created by runners from Eastern Market Brewing Run Club and celebrates hot dogs and adoptable dogs. Participants complete four quarter mile laps and eat four hot dogs over the course of the race.
The event is offered in multiple individual waves and a relay format. Individual waves have entry limits of up to 50 runners per wave. The relay is for teams of four; each teammate eats one hot dog and runs one quarter mile, and team entries are limited to 30 teams. Registration for most entries opens on 11/7/2025; one additional individual wave opens registration on 3/13/2026. Fees listed for the event include a $20 individual entry, a $60 team entry for the relay, and a $5 spectator ticket for donations or advance merchandise purchases.
Event activities include a DJ, adoptable dogs on site, and event merchandise or swag. After event costs are covered, remaining proceeds are donated to a local Detroit dog rescue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
