Meyerhoff's Mayhem
Meyerhoff's Mayhem is a 48 hour endurance event held at Big Woods Campground in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Participants complete 4 miles every four hours over the 48 hour period, with an optional two mile add on available after the final leg.
The event is offered as a 48 hour Individual entry or a 48 hour Team Relay for two to four people. Teams may divide legs as they choose. Ruck participants may use any weight. Halloween costumes are encouraged.
The route starts from the tent area and uses some paved trails and the disc golf course for varied terrain. Personal lights are required for runs held in the dark. No pets are allowed during the runs.
Light meals and water are provided at aid stations and the published menu may change as details are finalized. Planned items include GU, water, veggie broth, energy balls, donuts, bagels, fruit, chicken noodle soup, peanut butter sandwiches, chips, Sloppy Joes, pasta salad, and PB bars. Race sweatshirts are planned for participants and t shirts for volunteers. Medals will be awarded to finishers.
The event is dedicated to the memory of an individual who loved running and pushing limits. Registrations placed after September 11, 2026 are not guaranteed a shirt. The event has a no refund policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
