MetroHealth Resiliency Run

The MetroHealth Resiliency Run is an annual event held at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Now in its 10th year, the event serves to honor trauma and burn survivors, their loved ones, and their caregivers. Funds raised through the event support survivors who seek critical care and healthcare services at MetroHealth.

Participants can choose from several event distances:

  • 5k Run/Walk
  • 1 Mile Walk
  • Kids Dash (not timed)
  • Virtual Event (5k or 1 Mile)

The 5k course takes participants through the grounds of the zoo and features chip timing. The 1 Mile walk and the Kids Dash are non-timed events. For those unable to attend in person, the virtual option allows participants to complete a 5k or 1 Mile distance at a location of their choice, such as outdoors or on a treadmill.

Registration fees include admission to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo for the entire day. Participants receive a short-sleeved t-shirt, which is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and post-race refreshments are provided. The event is held rain or shine. In place of traditional finisher awards, the event features a ceremony to honor the resiliency of survivors and the local community. Supporters who wish to enter the zoo to cheer on participants must purchase a wristband for entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
