Metro Detroit Heart & Stroke Run
The Metro Detroit Heart & Stroke event takes place at Wayne State University within the Keast Commons in Detroit, Michigan. This community-focused athletic event offers participants the opportunity to engage in physical activity while supporting efforts to combat heart disease and stroke. The venue is located at 630 Merrick Street.
Participants can choose from multiple distance and format options:
- 5 km Timed Run
- 5 km Untimed Walk
- 1 mile Untimed Walk
The event features a festival grounds area that opens prior to the physical activities, followed by an opening ceremony. While the 5 km run is an officially timed race, the walks are untimed. Individuals who wish to receive an official time for the 5 km distance are required to register specifically for the run.
Proceeds and registration for this event support several health initiatives, including research for heart and brain health, training for life-saving CPR, and medical support for children with congenital heart defects. The course routes are situated within the urban campus setting of Wayne State University. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
