Metro Detroit Heart & Stroke Run

The Metro Detroit Heart & Stroke Run is a community athletic event held at Belle Isle State Park in Detroit, Michigan. The event focuses on physical and emotional health while supporting initiatives related to heart disease and stroke. Proceeds and participation contribute to pediatric heart surgery, CPR training, medical research for the brain and heart, and health equity programs.

Participants can choose from the following event options:

  • 5 km (3.1 miles) officially timed running race
  • 1 mile untimed Heart Walk

The 5 km distance provides participants with an official timing bib for performance tracking. While the 1 mile walk is untimed, walkers who desire an official result must register for the 5 km event to receive a timing chip.

The event takes place at 99 Pleasure Drive on Belle Isle. In addition to the athletic courses, the venue hosts a large-scale event area that opens following the start of the timed run. The program integrates social connection with physical movement to address community health needs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
