Event Overview
Metahqua 24 offers several running events on a trail course in Chillicothe, Ohio. The course is a 2-mile loop with a mix of single track and grass trails, described as well-groomed and runnable. The loop includes approximately 0.7 miles uphill (200 feet of gain), 0.7 miles downhill (200 feet of loss), and 0.6 miles of flat terrain.
Distances & Formats
The event includes multiple race options:
- Youth 2 Miler: A single-loop race.
- 10k: A three-loop race.
- 100 Mile Solo: A new option with a 32-hour time limit.
- 24 Hour Solo: A race to complete as many laps as possible within 24 hours.
- 24 Hour 4-Person Relay: A team event to complete as many laps as possible within 24 hours.
A specific rule states that the 24-hour solo race ends at the 24-hour mark; participants may not continue beyond that time to pursue a 100-mile buckle. However, any runner who completes 100 miles within the 24-hour period will still be awarded a buckle.
Logistics
The event is held in cooperation with the Ross County Parks District. Due to limited parking at the park, a shuttle service will operate from an off-site location (Walnut Creek Campground, approximately 1.5 miles away). There is a $10 per vehicle parking fee at the shuttle location; carpooling is recommended.
Each registered runner is allotted one 10x10 foot space for a tent or crew area; relay teams share one space. Participants are asked to coordinate setup times in advance, with priority given to early registrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
