Mesa Marathon - Mesa, Arizona
The Mesa Marathon event on February 13, 2027 includes a full marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon, a 10K, and a free Kids 1K for children 12 and under. Courses feature mainly downhill profiles: the full marathon begins near the Phoenix sign on Usery Mountain with nearly 1,000 feet of net elevation loss, and the half marathon drops about 200 feet from its start on McDowell Road. The 10K starts at Fitch Park and joins the longer routes toward a common finish at Riverview Park.
Support on course includes 13 aid stations for the marathon, 7 for the half, and 4 for the 10K; stations offer water, electrolyte beverage, portable restrooms, basic first aid, and selected nutrition options. Designated aid stations are staffed by medical personnel and have access to EMT services; sag vehicles and ambulances are available to assist runners who cannot maintain required paces.
The event is USATF sanctioned and certified for the marathon and half marathon. All participants receive a tech shirt with upgrade options and a distance-specific finisher medal, subject to the event's published time limits. Pacers are provided for many target finish times using a Smart Pacing strategy, and pace guide wristbands are available at the expo. An expo at Sloan Park is scheduled the day before the race.
