Merritt Backyard Ultra
The event takes place on May 23, 2026 at 2999 Voght St, Merritt, BC V1K 1G9, Canada. It uses the Backyard Ultra format: participants run a 6.7 km loop and must return to the start area within the hourly window to be eligible for the next loop; loops continue each hour until only one runner remains.
Categories are Individual and Team (2 to 4 participants). For teams, only one member runs each loop and the team continues if that runner completes the loop within the hourly limit. Teams may complete a maximum of 24 loops. The final remaining runner must complete one solo loop to be declared the winner.
The entry fee is $100 per person; published prices include mandatory charges and fees. All proceeds from the event go directly to Cops for Kids. The event is presented as a CAPRA project that new RCMP members complete as part of their training and is described as a community-driven initiative.
