Merritt Backyard Ultra 2026
The event takes place on May 23, 2026 at 2999 Voght St, Merritt, BC V1K 1G9, Canada. All proceeds are directed to the Cops for Kids charity.
The race uses a backyard ultra format. Each loop is 6.7 km long. Runners must complete a loop and return to the start/finish area before the next loop begins in order to remain eligible. This pattern repeats until only one runner remains; that final runner must complete one solo loop to be declared the winner.
Registration is available for individuals or teams. Teams consist of 2 to 4 members and only one team member runs each loop at a time. Teams may complete a maximum of 24 loops. The stated entry fee is 100 Canadian dollars per person; the final registration price includes mandatory fees and charges.
The event was organized as a CAPRA community project by a newly assigned member of the local RCMP as part of training. The project frames the race as a community-driven effort to combine running with fundraising for a local cause. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
