Merrickville Heritage Classic 2026
The Merrickville Heritage Classic is an annual spring road race held in the village of Merrickville, Ontario. The event is centered around the Merrickville Community Centre at 106 Read Street and features routes along the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal. The competition is accredited and insured by Athletics Ontario, with courses certified by Athletics Canada.
The event offers several distances to accommodate different preferences:
- 2 km (Blockhouse Run)
- 5 km (Canal Run)
- 10 km (Jewel of the Rideau Run)
- Half-Marathon
In-person participants in the 5 km and 10 km events receive a t-shirt as part of their registration fee, and t-shirts are available for purchase for those in the 2 km run. All finishers, including those participating in the virtual categories, receive a medal. For the 5 km and 10 km distances, chip timing is provided to track participant results.
The course remains open for a duration of 3 hours. Due to road closures and traffic control requirements, participants must move off the traveled portion of the road and follow standard traffic rules once this time limit expires. While refunds are not provided, registration transfers to other individuals or different distances are permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
