Mere Sands Mile
Mere Sands Mile is an inclusive canicross event held on 1 November 2026 at Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve in Rufford, Lancashire. The event is organised by Sporting Paws and takes place on the reserve's trails.
The main activity is a timed one mile run or walk with dogs. Runs are timed rather than run as a competition, and no medals are awarded. After the main mile there is an optional 2.5 km social run around the reserve.

The course follows mostly flat natural woodland trails and tracks through the reserve. Facilities at the site include a café, a visitor centre, toilets and parking. The trails are described as suitable for runners and walkers and provide opportunities to observe local wildlife.
Entries opened on 6 March 2026 and closed on 20 October 2026. The entry fee for the one mile event is £7.50 and the entry list showed five participants at the time of the listing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
