Memorial Day Mile 2026
The Memorial Day Mile is an annual running and walking event held in downtown Franklin, Indiana. The event serves as a gathering for participants prior to the annual Memorial Day Service held on the Johnson County Courthouse lawn. Based on previous years, the race has seen over 1,000 participants, making it a prominent mile-long race in the region.
The event offers several categories for different participants:
- 1 Mile Female Competitive (requires a pace of 10 minutes or faster)
- 1 Mile Male Competitive (requires a pace of 10 minutes or faster)
- 1 Mile Family Walk/Jog/Run
- 1 Mile Virtual Race
All participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher medal. While a virtual option is available for those unable to attend in person, shirts and medals for in-person registrants must be collected on-site. Packet pickup for bibs and shirts is available the day before the event at the Franklin Amphitheater and on the morning of the races.
The event facilities include water stations located at the finish line, along with restrooms and portable toilets situated near the start and finish areas. To ensure the safety of all attendees, pets are not permitted at the event. Following the conclusion of the races, an awards ceremony is held before the local Memorial Day Service begins.
