10th Anniversary Memorial Day Free 5K
The Memorial Day Free 5K in Gettysburg is a community event celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026. Presented by Healthy Adams County, this event provides a chip-timed experience at no cost to participants. The course covers a distance of 3.1 miles and is open to both runners and walkers.
The route consists of paved roads and includes some gentle hills. The event starts and finishes at the Wyndham Hotel, located within the Gateway Complex near the intersection of Routes 30 and 15.
Participants have the option to complete their registration online in advance or on-site on the morning of the event. To ensure accurate results for all participants, the race utilizes chip timing technology.

Safety is a priority for the organizers; the race will be canceled if there is a predicted chance of lightning during the event.
