Event information
The Medical Lake Triathlon takes place on May 23, 2026 in Medical Lake, Washington at 11315 Lake Shore Lake Tyler Rd. The event is USAT sanctioned and requires participants to hold a USAT membership; a one-day membership option is available. Entry categories and listed fees include Super Sprint ($75), Sprint ($80) and Splash n Dash for ages 7-15 ($25).
Distances
- Super Sprint: 1/4 mile swim, 11-mile bike, 5k run
- Sprint: 1/2 mile swim, 22-mile bike, 10k run
- Splash n Dash (ages 7-15): 100 m swim, 1.5 mile run
Course and race format
The swim takes place in Medical Lake from knee-deep water with certified lifeguards and search and rescue personnel on jet skis on the water. The bike course uses SR902 and is described as a flat road section through the surrounding countryside. The run is on mostly flat asphalt around Medical Lake; a single lap is approximately 5k, with the 10k requiring two laps. The event records six scores for each participant: Swim, Bike, Run, T1, T2 and final.
On-site services and rules
Plenty of parking is available at Medical Lake Park. Aid and food at the finish include apples, bananas, oranges and steak and veggie sandwiches. Finishers receive a forged Medical Lake Triathlon medal and all entrants receive a custom T-shirt. Music is provided in the start/finish/transition area. Bike handle plugs are required. Relay teams transfer an ankle bracelet in transition from swimmer to cyclist and from cyclist to runner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
