Meanwood Valley Trail Race 2026
The Meanwood Valley Trail Race takes place on Sunday 23rd August 2026 in Alwoodley and Meanwood, Leeds, West Yorkshire. The event is organised by Valley Striders Athletics Club and is based at Old Leo's Rugby Club on Crag Lane.
The course is an undulating multi terrain route of approximately 7 miles through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park. Landmarks on the route include one of the "Seven Arches", the Slabbering Baby and a tunnel under the Leeds Outer Ring Road. The race is a single lap, not suitable for wheelchairs, and carries race licence 31687. Trail or fell shoes are strongly recommended.
Prizes are awarded to the first three finishers overall for men and women and in male and female age groups from 40 up to 75 and over, based on chip times. Facilities at the race headquarters include water, toilets, changing rooms, showers and baggage storage. There are no distance markers on course and refreshments are available at Leo's after the event. Parking is limited so car sharing or alternative transport is advised.
Entry is limited to 450 runners. Affiliated club entries are listed at £18 and unaffiliated entries at £20. The event raises funds for St Gemma’s Hospice alongside its usual charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
