Meaford Harbour 5K Run/Walk
The Meaford Harbour 5K Run/Walk is an annual community event marking its 30th anniversary. It serves as a signature fundraiser for the Brightshores Meaford Hospital Foundation. The course guides participants through Meaford’s harbour area and local residential neighbourhoods, featuring scenic waterfront views.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 km Kids FunRun (for children aged 10 and under)
The event includes course entertainment, such as live musical performances near the water. Hydration stations operated by volunteers are located along the route to support participants. The 5 km event utilizes electronic chip timing for accurate results tracking.
Proceeds from the event are directed toward hospital improvements, with current goals focusing on the revitalization of the Emergency Department. Over its history, the run has supported various capital campaigns, including diagnostic imaging and cancer care. The first 500 registrants for the 5 km distance receive a commemorative event t-shirt.
