About the race
The Meaford Harbour 5K Run/Walk marked its 30th anniversary on the waterfront, staged on Saturday, July 11, with nearly 700 runners and walkers and hundreds of supporters and volunteers in attendance.
The event raised $125,000 for the Emergency Department Revitalization Campaign at Brightshores Meaford Hospital, surpassing the 2026 goal of $100,000 and bringing the event’s three‑decade fundraising total past $1.27 million. Funds from the Run/Walk have supported diagnostic imaging, cancer and cardiac care facilities, mental health initiatives, and emergency department equipment.
Organizers attributed the strong turnout to broad community support, a dedicated organizing committee, and numerous volunteers who managed event operations and participant safety.
