McNabs Half Marathon
The event takes place on McNabs Island with a Fort to Fort route that passes the stone walls of Fort McNabs, the island lighthouse, and a beach section with views of the city. The route is similar to last year and is described as approachable for varied skill levels.
Distances available
- Half marathon: three loops, visitor centre near McNabs Beach.
- Double loop: two loops, visitor centre near McNabs Beach.
- Single loop: 7 km loop, visitor centre near McNabs Beach.
Logistics include jet boat shuttle service from Halifax and Dartmouth waterfront provided by Sea HFX, included in registration at discounted rates. The event emphasizes a leave no trace approach and asks participants to bring their own drinking containers for aid stations. Onsite medical support will be provided by Halifax Search & Rescue Medical teams. Trail stewards will be onsite to assist with directions and aid stations. A post race social will take place on the island with goodies, prizes, and a BBQ. The event will support Halifax Search & Rescue and Friends of McNabs Island through donations.
