McLeans Forest Run - Winter Edition
The inaugural McLeans Forest Run takes place in McLeans Forest, McLeans Island, within the Waimakariri River Regional Park near Christchurch, New Zealand. The event offers three course distances that use a mix of established forest trails, gravel park tracks and mixed‑use walking and cycling paths.
Course details vary by distance. The half marathon is a single loop route with no backtracking and includes temporarily opened sections and a continuous flow through forest trails, open parkland and stopbanks. The 10km follows a single loop on established trails and passes through areas of forest cover and open landscape. The 5km loops through forest trails and includes a section on a mountain bike only track in the Gordon Reid Forest that is normally closed to runners. Marshals and clear signage will support each course.
Entry fees are listed per distance and include the shown mandatory charges. Registration includes on‑site bib collection on race day and an earlier collection opportunity the Friday before the event at 1330 Main North Road, Kainga during the stated times. Event parking will be managed by staff with a large area for competitors and spectators and a smaller area for marshals and volunteers.
