McKendree University Homecoming & Family Weekend Rise and Shine 5K Walk/Run and Kids' Dash
This event takes place on October 10, 2026, at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, with venue address 400 North Alton Street. The program includes a 5K run/walk and a short kids' dash, held as part of Homecoming and Family Weekend.
Distances:
- 5K run/walk through campus and downtown
- 150 m Kids' Dash around the circle drive
The 5K starting line is located at the circle drive in front of the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts. The Kids' Dash is held around the same circle drive. The course passes through McKendree University campus and historic downtown Lebanon. Participants receive a t-shirt and a participant medal; Kids' Dash participants also receive a Raising Cane's certificate.
Registration details from the organizer note that participants who register by September 26 are guaranteed a t-shirt and finisher medal. Registration closes September 21. Fees listed are Adult 5K $35, McKendree Student Discount 5K $20, and Kids Dash $15. Early packet pickup is October 6–8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hills Clubhouse (1015 Belleville Ave., Lebanon, IL). Day-of check-in is at the purple tent in the center of the Hettenhausen circle drive. Parking is in Lot H and requires a short walk to the starting area.
Awards are given to the Overall Male and Overall Female winners and to the top participant in each ten-year age division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
