About the race
McKendree University hosts the Rise and Shine event as part of its Homecoming and Family Weekend. The event includes a 5K walk/run over a course that passes through the university campus and historic downtown Lebanon. The starting line is located at the circle drive in front of the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts. The Kids' Dash is a 150 meter run around the same circle drive and takes place after the 5K.

Packet pickup is available October 6 through October 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hills Clubhouse at McKendree University (1015 Belleville Ave., Lebanon, IL). Day-of check-in is at the purple tent in the center of the Hettenhausen circle drive. Parking for the event is in Lot H; participants will need to walk from the lot to the start area.
Registration deadlines include a guarantee for a t-shirt and finisher medal if registered by September 26. Entry fees listed are Adult 5K $35, McKendree student 5K $20, and Kids Dash $15. Participants receive a t-shirt and participant medal; Kids' Dash participants also receive a Raising Cane's certificate. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners and to the top participant in each ten-year age division (10–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, etc.).
