Event overview
McClellan Madness is a timed trail running event held at the McClellan Bike Trails, 460 Brigadier D H Stem, Anniston, AL. The event marks its 5 year anniversary. The course will be run counter clockwise in 2026. Registration closes on Wed, Mar 4 at 11:59 PM CT.
Course and logistics
The race starts and finishes at the McClellan bike trailhead. The course is a single-track loop of 4.1 miles, generally runnable with a few rocks and not technical. Elevation is approximately 300 feet per loop. Organizers note that ordnance or land mines may still be found on the old fort and advise runners to stay on the trail.
A self-serve aid station will be stocked at the start/finish with snack items and vegan options; grilled cheese and vegan grilled cheese will be available. Organizers will serve water, Coke, Ginger Ale and Tailwind. Participants may also set up their own aid station at the start/finish, at their car, in the grass, or at the outdoor amphitheater. This is a cupless event. Packet pickup is available on race day only.
Distances, awards and policies
- 4hr - complete four loops for 25k, special award.
- 8hr - complete eight loops for 50k, special award.
Each runner receives a soft t-shirt (shirt deadline: February 3). One female and one male for each distance who go the longest distance will receive an award. There are no refunds or deferrals; transfers to another runner are possible by contacting the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
