Matlock Skyline Challenge for Derby MRT

The event offers two mainly off-road circular routes that follow the high ground around Matlock and Darley Dale. It is held as a fundraiser for the Derby Mountain Rescue Team and is organised in partnership with Ordnance Survey.

Participants should be prepared to navigate an unmarked course or enter with someone who can navigate. The route passes through villages, stone-walled meadows, moorland, woodland and includes a castle. A finishers certificate is provided.

Participants may choose to walk, run, or combine both, and may take part solo or in a group. Under 18s may participate only if accompanied by an over 18; if one member of such a pair retires both must retire.

Entry fee information is provided by the organiser. The event is listed to take place on 5 July 2026 and uses Hall Leys Park, Matlock, as its location.
