Event Overview
The Marsh Madness 10K takes place at the 1,000 acre Howard Marsh Metropark in Curtice, Ohio. This event features a 10 km course designed for both runners and walkers. The route consists of gravel trails positioned on top of marsh dikes, providing a flat and fast surface for participants.
The surrounding environment is a habitat for various wildlife, including many types of birds and unique plants. Due to the nature of the location, the event operates as a sustainable race and does not provide paper cups. Participants are required to use handheld water bottles, hydration vests, or reusable collapsible cups at the water stations located at approximately 3.3 and 5.7 miles.
Additional Activities and Series Information
The venue offers eight miles of aquatic trails, and participants have the option to engage in kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding after the race. Rental equipment is available through the Metroparks.
This race serves as the first installment of the Toledo Roadrunners-Metroparks Toledo Trail Race Series. The full series includes:
- 10 km loop at Howard Marsh Metropark
- 10 km and Half Marathon at Providence Dam Metropark
- 5 km and 25 km at Oak Openings Metropark
- 5 km and 8 miler at Secor Metropark
