Marsh Creek Sprint Triathlon
The Marsh Creek Sprint Triathlon is staged at Marsh Creek State Park near Downingtown, PA, just west of Philadelphia. The event offers a time trial swim, a single-loop bike course and a one-loop 5k run, all routed within or around the park.
Swim: A rectangular course in the 500-acre Marsh Creek Lake with two yellow triangle buoys and orange sighting buoys placed every 75–100 meters. Water temperatures are expected in the low 70s and are wetsuit legal. A preliminary water temperature will be posted the Friday before the race and an official reading is taken race morning.
Bike: A single 20K loop on well-paved roads around the lake and watershed. The course features all right-hand turns, a mix of technical sections and long straightaways, and runs alongside trout streams and forested areas. Athletes re-enter the park to transition to the run.
Run: A one-loop 5K contained within the park. The route passes the boat ramp and upper park near the swimming pool, follows the lake to the finish, and finishes with a grass section in the last half mile. Aid stations are placed roughly every mile.
Additional event details include USA Triathlon sanctioning, multiple scoring categories (including Age Group, Masters, Aquabike, Military, Clydesdale, Athena and Relay Teams), packet pickup with ID required, non-refundable registrations with deferral options, and participant swag.
