Marsh Creek Sprint Triathlon
The Marsh Creek Sprint Triathlon is staged at Marsh Creek State Park in Downingtown, PA, just west of Philadelphia. The event date is September 20, 2026. This race is sold out and a waitlist is available.
Distances contested include:
- Triathlon: 750 meter swim, 20K bike, 5K run
- Aquabike: 750 meter swim, 20K bike
Swim: The swim is a single-loop, rectangular course in 500 acre Marsh Creek Lake. The course uses two yellow triangle buoys and orange sighting buoys placed about every 75 to 100 meters. Water temperatures are expected in the low 70s and wetsuits are allowed. An official water temperature reading is taken and posted by USAT officials on race morning.
Bike: The bike is a well paved, single loop 20K course that travels through forested valleys and along trout streams. The route uses all right hand turns and combines rolling sections, technical segments, and long straightaways. The course returns to the park for transition two. The published elevation for the bike loop is 1,059.7 feet.
Run: The run is one 5K loop entirely inside the park, with the first mile near the boat ramp and a section by the park pool before returning along the lake to the finish. Trails are well maintained, aid stations are placed approximately every mile, and the final half mile crosses grass to the finish. The published run elevation is 274.9 feet.
Additional notes: The race is USA Triathlon sanctioned. Registered athletes receive a tech shirt, socks, finisher medal, post-race food and drink, and event photos. Packet pickup occurs at the race site on the weekend and participants must present photo identification to collect their packet. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
