About the race
The Marsh Creek Sprint Triathlon is staged at Marsh Creek State Park in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The event offers triathlon and aquabike options and uses Marsh Creek Lake for the swim, a single 20K bike loop on public roads, and a one-loop 5K run entirely inside the park.
Distances
- Triathlon: 750 meter swim, 20K bike, 5K run
- Aquabike: 750 meter swim, 20K bike
The swim takes place in the 500 acre Marsh Creek Lake on a single rectangular loop with two yellow triangle buoys to round and orange sighting buoys every 75 to 100 meters. Water temperatures are expected in the low 70s and wetsuits are permitted under typical rules. The bike course is one well-paved loop with all right-hand turns, a mix of technical sections and long straightaways, and varied elevation; cyclists re-enter the park for T2. The run route weaves through the boat ramp and upper park near the pool, follows the lake, includes a notable uphill around mile 2, has aid stations roughly every mile, and finishes on grass in front of the race site.
The race is USA Triathlon sanctioned. Race categories include Overall, Masters, Age Group, Aquabike, Military, Clydesdale, Athena, and Relay Teams. Packet pickup is available on the day before the event and race morning; photo ID is required to collect race materials. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
