Event Overview
The Mari Vineyards Wine Run 5k takes place at Mari Vineyards on the Old Mission Peninsula north of Traverse City, Michigan. The event features a timed 5k run/walk.
Course Details
The course starts and finishes at the winery. It is described as a mostly cross-country style route with areas of uneven footing, going through vines and grass. It is a two-lap course. The event information notes it is probably not the best course for a personal best time.
Registration and Participation
Registration is open to ages 1 to 99. A discounted rate is available for participants aged 1 to 20, which includes a shirt, medal, and bib but not a wine glass or wine pour. The event has a virtual participation option. Packet pickup is on race day only.
Participants can choose between two start waves on the event day. The race is chip-timed by J3 Timing, with results posted online. Age group awards are given to the top finisher in each category.
Included Items
Registration includes a t-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine stopper, a chip-timed race bib, and a pour of wine. Free race photos are available for download.
Additional Information
The event has a local charity partner, the Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center. The course allows strollers (though not recommended due to uneven ground) and leashed dogs, but dogs are not allowed inside the winery building. The event is part of a Michigan Wine Trail Series, offering a discount for registering for multiple races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
