Event Overview
The March for Meals St. Patrick's 5k Run & Walk is a community event held at Kissimmee Lakefront Park. The primary goal of the event is to raise awareness for senior hunger and generate support for the Meals on Wheels program in Osceola County through the Osceola Council on Aging. Participants are encouraged to wear green clothing to celebrate the upcoming St. Patrick's Day holiday.
Race Details
The event features a timed course and offers multiple participation options:
- 5k Run & Walk: A chip-timed event for participants of various ages.
- Free Kids Dash: Short distance dashes ranging from 50 to 200 yards for children ages 7 and under.
The 5k course is chip-timed, and results are available online. Participants in the 5k event receive a themed cotton t-shirt and a finisher medal. Water and post-race snacks are provided, and sponsor booths are located on-site. The event takes place rain or shine, though severe weather may impact the schedule.
Awards and Teams
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in several age categories starting from 10 and under up to 80+. Special recognition is also given to the top male and female finishers aged 65 and over.
The "Team Challenge" encourages groups of five or more to participate together. Competitive categories for teams include the "Most Spirited Team" and the "Largest Team."
Participant Safety
For safety reasons, roller skates and in-line skates are not permitted on the course. Jogging strollers are allowed but must start at the back of the group to ensure a clear path for other runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
