EDP Maratona de Lisboa
The EDP Maratona de Lisboa is a running event in Portugal that features a course entirely situated along the sea and the river. The race starts in Carcavelos, specifically on the N6-7 road in front of the NOVA School of Business & Economics, and concludes at the Praça do Comércio in Lisbon. This event is a founding member of the European Marathon Classics circuit, which connects several prominent European marathons.
The event offers the following distances:
- 42 km (Marathon)
- 21.1 km (Hyundai Half Marathon)
- 8 km (EDP 8K)
- New Generation (Youth event)
For the full marathon distance, there is a time limit of 6 hours and a participation cap of 18,000 runners. The participation kit includes a technical t-shirt, a bag, and a race bib with an integrated chip. Athletes who complete the race receive a finisher medal.
Registration is personal and non-transferable, except in specific cases such as documented illness or injury. Participants can access free train transport to the start line by presenting their race bib on the day of the event.
