About the race
The EDP Maratona de Lisboa takes place on 10 October 2026 and is a 42 km road marathon with a 6-hour time limit and a maximum of 18,000 participants. The race starts in Carcavelos, in front of NOVA School of Business & Economics, and finishes at Praça do Comércio, following a route that runs entirely along the sea and the river. The event is part of the European Marathon Classics circuit. Entry fees change with registration phases: the first 2,000 entries cost €70, entries 2,001–5,000 cost €95, and entries from 5,001 cost €130; a €4 transaction fee is added.
Registrations are personal and non-transferable except in exceptional, documented cases such as illness, injury, or pregnancy; transfers to the next edition may be allowed in those cases. The participation kit includes a technical t-shirt, a bib with chip and a bag. Kits are handed out at the Sport Expo on 8 and 9 October at FIL (Feira Internacional de Lisboa). Finishers receive a medal. Organizers recommend using CP trains to reach Carcavelos; the train from Cais do Sodré takes about 30 minutes and the Carcavelos station is about 1 km from the start.
