Marathon Warsaw
The Maraton Warszawski is an annual long-distance running event held in the Polish capital. Established in 1979, the race has been organized without interruption, making it one of the few marathons in the world with such a history. The course leads through the heart of Warsaw, crossing both the left and right banks of the Vistula river.
The event features several different distances and categories to accommodate various age groups and preferences:
- 42.195 km (Marathon) - the main distance
- 10 km (Warszawska Dycha) - held concurrently with the marathon
- 50 m to 1200 m (Mini Maraton) - races for children and youth aged 3 to 16
- Relay Marathon (Ekiden)
Participants can choose a charitable participation path called #BiegamDobrze. In this mode, runners raise funds for one of several partner non-governmental organizations to receive their starting number. The event also serves as a qualifying race for the AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Championships for runners aged 40 and over. Additionally, the marathon is part of the "Złota Seria" (Golden Series) of Polish marathons and the European Marathon Classics.
On-site facilities include an EXPO Sport&Fitness, a Marathon Fan Zone, and a dedicated Runner's Village. Finishers receive a commemorative medal, and official event merchandise is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
