Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes
The Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes is a major running event held along the French Riviera. The course connects the city of Nice with Cannes, starting at the Theatre de Verdure and finishing at the Palais des Festivals. The route transitions through several coastal towns, including Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-mer, Villeneuve-loubet, Antibes Juan-les-Pins, and Vallauris Golf-Juan.
The event offers several race formats:
- Marathon: The classic distance of 42.195 km.
- 2x21.1 km: A marathon completed as a duo.
- 20 km: A shorter distance option starting in Nice.
- Marathon Relais: A relay format for teams.
Additional categories include a handisport and joëlette start, as well as a Breakfast Run. The event is one of the largest marathons in France, attracting around 22,000 participants from approximately 90 different nations. The marathon distance itself is limited to 15,000 bibs. Participants run under the palm trees of the Mediterranean coast, following the sea for much of the journey.
