Marathon 2 Marathon
Marathon 2 Marathon is a road race in Marathon, Texas held on October 24, 2026. The event features multiple distances:

The course runs along a highway in the high desert and is described as gradual downhill with noteworthy scenery. Every mile and the race starts are marked on the shoulder. The course is a Boston qualifying course. Organizers note a hill beginning near mile 22 that can be more challenging than the elevation profile suggests.
Safety rules emphasize that the highway is not closed to traffic and racers must stay on the east shoulder. Vehicles may pass at highway speeds. Only registered racers wearing bibs are allowed on the course; supporters must park on the opposite side of the highway and remain on that shoulder. Several wheeled devices and animals are prohibited on the course, including strollers, bicycles, hand cycles, push rim wheelchairs, and dogs. The race enforces a maximum allowed marathon time and will remove runners who cannot complete the distance within that limit.
Water stations are placed about every 2 miles, offering water, a sports drink, and limited first aid. Port a potties are provided at starts, along the course, and at the finish. Buses provide transportation from Marathon to the start lines and runners may leave clothing on those buses for postrace pickup. No race day registrations are permitted.
