The course runs along a highway through high desert terrain. Every mile is marked on the shoulder and water stations are placed every two miles beginning at mile 2; both water and a sports drink are provided along with limited first aid supplies. The route is described as generally gradual downhill with notable scenery, and participants should consider the hill beginning near mile 22 which may be more demanding than it appears on the profile. The highway is not closed to traffic so racers must stay on the east-side shoulder.
Event services include bus transportation from Marathon to the start areas, packet pickup options at the start and post-race pickup of shirts and meal wristbands at the Community Center, and clothing drop at water stations or on the buses. Unclaimed clothing will be donated. Safety rules prohibit wheels on the course, dogs, drones, and unauthorised persons on the roadway; supporters must remain on the opposite side of the highway.
