About the race
The MapleWeird Community 5K & Fun Run takes place on October 25, 2026, at Schlafly Bottleworks on Southwest Avenue in St. Louis. The event is the inaugural running of a community race that returns after many years away.
Distances
- 5K timed road race
- 0.5-mile untimed Fun Run
The 5K is a timed loop course through Maplewood that runs through parks and past local businesses and cheering crowds. The course contains some hills and starts and ends at Schlafly Bottleworks. Awards will be given in the 5K for overall and age group winners; age groups will be announced later.
The half-mile Fun Run is untimed and aimed at families. Costumes are encouraged for all races. Prizes will be awarded for best kid’s costume and best group costume in the Fun Run. All kids who finish the Fun Run receive a medal. Adults registered for the Fun Run will receive a Schlafly beverage. Organizers note that members of the Board of Directors may appear in costume and that kids who beat them to the finish will earn a special prize. 5K participants may also register for the half-mile Fun Run.
Packet pickup will be at Schlafly Bottleworks on Friday, October 23 (4:00 pm–7:00 pm), Saturday, October 24 (12:00 pm–4:00 pm), and Sunday, October 25 (8:00 am–10:30 am).
Presenting sponsors include Maplewood Community Fund and Schlafly Beer. The post-race celebration continues with live music and a Trunk-or-Treat during Schlafly’s monthly Sundaze event featuring local artists, entertainers, and vendors.
