About the race
The MapleWeird Community 5K and Fun Run takes place on October 25, 2026, at Schlafly Bottleworks in St. Louis. It is presented as the inaugural running of a community race returning after many years away.
Distances offered:
- 5K timed race around Maplewood
- 0.5 mile untimed Fun Run for families
Costumes are encouraged for all races. The Fun Run will award prizes for best kid costume and best group costume. The 5K will present awards for overall and age group winners; age groups will be announced later. All kids who finish the Fun Run will receive a medal.
The 5K is a timed loop course that starts and ends at Schlafly Bottleworks and runs through parks and past local businesses. The loop contains some hills. 5K participants may also register for the half mile Fun Run.
Post-race activities take place at Schlafly Bottleworks during its monthly Sundaze event and include live music and a Trunk or Treat with local artists, entertainers, and vendors. Adults registered for the Fun Run will receive a Schlafly beverage; kids in the Fun Run will receive a spooky race medal. Organizers note that board members may appear in costume and that special prizes will be given to kids who beat them to the finish.
Packet pickup is at Schlafly Bottleworks on Friday October 23 4pm to 7pm, Saturday October 24 noon to 4pm, and Sunday October 25 8am to 10 30am. Registration fees listed include processing: the 5K is shown at thirty five dollars plus fees and the Fun Run at twenty dollars plus fees.
