Maple Run Half Marathon : Canton, NY
The Maple Run is an annual running event held in Canton, New York, established in 2017 to celebrate the end of winter and to support local youth runners and the local economy. The start and finish are at the picnic shelter in Bend in the River Park, 90 Lincoln Street, Canton, NY.
Distances include:
- Half marathon, approximately 13.2 miles, out-and-back, turns marked, roads open to traffic.
- 5K (ish), approximately 3.2 miles, on and off road with some gravel and mud.
Course details for the half marathon note volunteer-staffed water stations on the route and no on-course restrooms. The 5K course has no on-course water stations or restrooms. On-site indoor restrooms and warming areas are available at the venue. Parking is available at the Canton Pavilion lot and along Lincoln Street.
Event formats include in person, all virtual, and hybrid participation. All-virtual participants receive a shirt and a custom finisher medallion but do not receive a race bib and are not eligible for placement prizes. Hybrid entries for the half marathon combine remote miles with an in person finish; hybrid participants receive a chip-timer equipped bib on event day and are eligible for the doorprize drawing. The in-person half marathon will be chip timed and the course will be open for four hours.
Merchandise and finisher items include a long-sleeve shirt, a mini bottle of local maple syrup, and a wooden finisher medallion. Placement prizes and age group awards are offered for specified categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
