Maple Grove Nature Run
The Maple Grove Lions Half Marathon is an annual community event featuring several distance options for participants. The event marks its 19th year with routes that highlight the natural landscape of the area. All races begin and end at the Maple Grove High School Stadium. Participants can choose from the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The Half Marathon course takes runners around Rice Lake and through the Elm Creek Park Reserve. This route allows participants to view local wildlife, lakes, and rivers. The 5K and 10K courses emphasize nature trails and use fewer city streets, featuring a design with a reduced number of turns. For those who cannot attend in person, virtual options are available, allowing runners to complete their chosen distance on a route of their preference.
All participants receive a race t-shirt, and those who complete their event are awarded finisher medals. The event is organized by the Maple Grove Lions as a fundraiser.
