Manchester City Marathon
The Manchester City Marathon event offers multiple in-person and virtual race options in Manchester, New Hampshire. Distances offered include:
- Marathon 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles
- Manchester City 5k
- 4-person, 2-person full, and 2-person half relays
The marathon course is a certified Boston qualifier that starts and finishes in downtown Manchester at Veterans Park (799 Elm St). The route passes through the Millyard and the North End, crosses the Merrimack River, follows the Goffstown Rail Trail, and returns downtown. Course time limits are set at 7 hours for the marathon and 4 hours for the half; there is no time limit for the 5k. Marathoners who miss intermediate cutoffs will be directed to finish the half or to board a shuttle and will be scored for the shorter distance.
Aid stations are placed approximately every two miles with 17 stations for the marathon, seven for the half, and one for the 5k. Most stations provide water, Gatorade, and toilets; selected stations also supply GU nutrition and bananas. Finishers in the marathon, half and relays receive medals. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three men and women in the marathon and age-group awards are given across standard age divisions. A virtual option is available with procedures for submitting results and for earning series mileage. Swim With A Mission is the official event charity.
