Manchester City Marathon
The Manchester City Marathon weekend in Manchester, New Hampshire, offers multiple race options on a certified course that passes through downtown Manchester, the historic Millyard, the North End, crosses the Merrimack River, and follows the Goffstown Rail Trail. Distances include a full marathon, a half marathon, a city 5k, and relay divisions with defined leg distances.
- Marathon - 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 5k - 3.1 miles
- 4-person relay and 2-person relay options
Course controls include time limits: a seven-hour limit for the marathon and a four-hour limit for the half; there is no time limit for the 5k. The marathon has mid-course cutoff points at 13.1 and 19.4 miles where participants behind established limits may be directed to a shorter distance and recorded accordingly. Aid stations are positioned approximately every two miles: 17 for the marathon, 7 for the half, and 1 for the 5k. Most stations provide water, Gatorade, and portable toilets; GU products and bananas are available at select stations. Finishers in the marathon, half marathon, and relays receive finisher medals. Age-group awards and cash prizes are given in the marathon; age-group awards are also provided across race divisions.
Relay logistics note leg distances for the full and half relay formats, exchange zone locations in downtown Manchester and at the Rail Trail, and a shuttle service to the Rail Trail exchange zone. A virtual option allows participants to complete the distance remotely and claim event items by mail or store pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
